Questa fotografia fu scattata durante il Gran Premio di San Marino tenutosi nell'ultima settimana di aprile del 1991 sul Circuito del Santerno intitolato ad Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Qui Eric Van De Poele... dopo essere partito dalla 21° posizione... ottenne il suo miglior piazzamento della stagione giungendo 9° a 4 giri dal vincitore Ayrton Senna... in quanto rimasto senza benzina. L'altra Lambo 291... la n. 34 condotta da Nicola Larini... non era partita poiché non aveva superato le prequalifiche del venerdì. All'epoca la Lamborghini Engineering era sotto il controllo della Chrysler. Eric Van De Poele nel 1992 passerà alla Brabham... pure questa afflitta da seri problemi economici... e così dopo due sole stagioni si ritirerà dalla Formula 1 passando a gareggiare nell'Endurance dove a tutt'oggi è l'unico pilota ad aver vinto per ben 5 volte la 24 Ore di SPA. Immagine scannerizzata da analogico. Pellicola Kodacolor 100 ASA. Originariamente a colori... ho trasformato l'immagine in bianco e nero per eliminare diverse imperfezioni dovute al tempo.
