Esistono isolate tribù nelle vaste catene montuose del Nepal centrale che, da secoli, raccolgono un miele speciale sui pendii dell'Himalaya. Vivono in villaggi remoti, le cui abitazioni in legno e pietra sono incastonate sui versanti delle catene montuose nel distretto del Dhaulagiri, all'ombra del Monte Everest. Lontana da tutto, quest'area incontaminata è accessibile solo a piedi, ad un paio di giorni dai villaggi limitrofi. Avvolte in un tornado di api giganti arrabbiate, appese a mani nude a una corda di bambù alta centinaia di metri, queste persone rischiano la vita per raccogliere il prezioso "miele rosso" primaverile, famoso per le sue proprietà medicinali, afrodisiache e allucinogene.
