Purtroppo non conosco le figure del pattinaggio, ma il momento colto mi sembra interessante. Per i parametri tecnici direi che hai scelto giusto, anche aiutato dalla grande apertura dell'obiettivo usato, che ti ha permesso di stare (giustamente) corto con i tempi e basso con gli iso.
Per il modo AF, io consiglio e uso l' AF-C; in un esercizio tipo questo non passa mai nessuno d'avanti al soggetto mentre inquadri, quindi non serve il focus tracking.

Adeguate le impostazioni di scatto da te impostate e la scelta di un obiettivo luminoso che, con una APS-C, ti consente ancora una sufficiente profondità di campo. Normalmente, in gara scatto a priorità di tempo con ISO automatici per gestire le variazioni di luminosità del palazzetto tra il centro e il bordo pista. Per l' AF, utilizzo la modalità AI-Servo (in Canon, purtroppo non so come viene chiamato in Nikon).
