Novembre 1990... primi giri di pista per il collaudo della nuova Lambo 291 del Modena Team che gareggerà nel Campionato del Mondo di Formula 1 nel 1991 con i piloti Eric Van De Poele, belga esordiente nella massima categoria con il n. 35 e l'italiano Nicola Larini con il n. 34. La vettura era equipaggiata con il motore V12 Lamborghini modello 3512. Dopo un 1991 da dimenticare a causa dei problemi economici... dovuti alla mancata copertura del massimo sponsor... codesti non permetteranno alla squadra di iscriversi nel 1992 abbandonando così definitivamente il Mondo di Formula 1. All'epoca la Lamborghini Engineering era sotto il controllo della Chrysler. Eric Van De Poele nel 1992 passerà alla Brabham... pure questa afflitta da seri problemi economici... e così dopo due sole stagioni si ritirerà dalla Formula 1 passando a gareggiare nell'Endurance dove a tutt'oggi è l'unico pilota ad aver vinto per ben 5 volte la 24 Ore di SPA.
