Inaugurato il murale in memoria di Paolo Borsellino e Giovanni Falcone realizzato per volontà dell'Associazione nazionale magistrati, su una parete dell'Istituto Nautico "Gioieni-Trabia" di Palermo, che si affaccia sulla borgata marinara della Cala. Il grande ritratto dei due magistrati sorridenti e complici, ispirato al celebre scatto fotografico di Tony Gentile, è stato realizzato dagli street artist siciliani Rosk e Loste a lavoro con spray, vernice e una gru. L'incarico ai due artisti è stato assegnato da Inward con sede a Napoli, osservatorio che svolge attività di ricerca sull'arte e la creatività urbana, su incarico dell'Anm. "Questo murale deve ricordare a tutti che questa non è la città della mafia, ma la città di Falcone e di Borsellino", ha detto la presidente della Commissione parlamentare Antimafia Rosy Bindi, in città da ieri, in occasione del 25esimo anniversario della strage di via D'Amelio. "Per noi tutti - afferma la scuola - è stato un grande onore essere stati individuati dalla Città metropolitana di Palermo come cornice naturale di un'opera d'arte in grado di coniugare bellezza e impegno sociale in un luogo, come solo può essere una scuola, dove l'educazione dei giovani ai valori civili della legalità e di cittadinanza assume un ruolo di primissimo piano". Una risposta anche alla brutale decapitazione del busto di Falcone davanti alla scuola dello Zen. La cura del murale, così come previsto dal progetto di realizzazione, è affidata proprio agli studenti del Nautico, "testimoni e custodi dei valori lasciati in eredità dai due magistrati palermitani al mondo intero". “Un'occasione per ricordare i venticinque anni dalle terribili stragi del '92 – ha dichiarato Orlando - ma al tempo stesso, per ricordare tutti coloro che hanno dato la vita e hanno perso la vita per un recupero di identità. Credo che, simbolicamente, Giovanni Falcone e Paolo Borsellino rappresentino il recupero, dalla vergogna all'orgoglio, dell' identità palermitana e dell'identità nazionale, sfregiate dalla mafia". Tony Gentile - autore del celebre scatto di Falcone e Borsellino, ha ammesso che "non si può essere soddisfatti per una foto che vede due uomini uccisi dalla mafia, il sentimento umano è di grande dolore, non avrei mai voluta vederla questa foto e non avrei mai voluto vedere quindi questo murale, ma questa fotografia dopo gli attentati ha assunto un valore di speranza, dà anche un messaggio di coraggio". Durante la cerimonia è stata letta la missiva inviata da Maria Falcone, sorella del giudice Giovanni: "E' un dono inaspettato rispetto ai tristi episodi recenti, che ritrae l'amicizia tra Giovanni e Paolo e, da quella parete, adesso potranno vegliare sulla città".
