Confermo. Foto potenzialmente molto bella ma... rovinata dall'errata messa a fuoco. :(
Avrei anche decentrato un po' il soggetto verso sinistra (lasciando solo poco spazio tra il bordo sinistro della foto ed il libro... così c'è un'area troppo grande a sinistra che non aggiunge molto alla foto...
Un vero peccato per la messa a fuoco: uno scatto così è davvero bello...

I also have a little off-center 'the subject toward the left (leaving only a small space between the left edge of the photo and the book ... so there is too great an area to the left that does not add much to the picture ...

Sarà perchè ritengo che la fotografia sia anche espressione ed evocazione di emozioni, momenti, ricordi ... e non mera "tecnica applicata" che, sopratutto in scatti "studiati" .. come credo sia stato il tuo, con il mio ridotto bagaglio di cultura fotografica appresso da autodidatta, mi soffermo più sul messaggio emozionale che sull'applicazione/rispetto della tecnica ... 
Quindi ... ammirevole l'onesta ammissione dell'errore ... è un piacere

It will be because I believe that photography is also an expression and evocation of emotions, moments, memories ... and not merely "applied technique" that, especially in shots "studied" .. as I think it was yours, with my small bag of photographic culture following a self-taught, I will focus more on the emotional message that implementation / compliance with the technical ... :-)

A me la non perfetta messa a fuoco in questa immagine non disturba affatto, trovo le doni una morbidezza d'altri tempi in linea con l'atmosfera dell'immagine
