Il Dhoni, barca tipica maldiviana, a vela o a motore che sia, è l'imbarcazione per eccellenza di quei mari, molto stabile e facile da manovrare, costruite perlopiù con legni provenienti dagli alberi da cocco, quasi l'unico tipo di legno presente alle Maldive... usate nei resort per trasportare i subacquei/snorkelisti, per portare a pesca i turisti (il "famigerato" bolentino...) o più semplicemente per portare gli stessi nelle varie isole dei pescatori per far vedere come vivono in semplicità i maldiviani....cosa che dovremmo imparare a farlo pure noi....
