La Lamborghini Aventador è spinta da un motore V12 a 60° di 6498 cm3 erogante 700 cavalli che portano la vettura fino all'esaltante velocità di 350 chilometri orari. Ha il telaio in fibra di carbonio ed è dotata di un cambio sequenziale robotizzato ISR (Indipendent Shifting Rods) a 7 marce mentre la trazione è integrale. Costruita in versione coupè a 2 posti dal 2011, nel 2012 compare pure la versione roadster mentre nell'anno successivo la vettura viene dotata del sistema CDS (Cylinder Deactivation System) che permette alla vettura di marciare fino a 135 chilometri orari utilizzando solamente una delle due bancate a 6 cilindri. Il serbatoio del carburante contiene fino ad 85 litri di benzina verde dando alla vettura un'autonomia dichiarata di circa 500 chilometri con un pieno mentre... con uno stile di guida "allegro"... sembra che l'autonomia possa scendere ben sotto i 350 chilometri. Negli anni successivi vedranno la luce diverse nuove versioni della Aventador anche con potenze aumentate fino a 770 cavalli mentre nel 2016 verrà presentata le versione a 4 ruote motrici e sterzanti. Il nome e la sigla: Aventador fu il nome di un valoroso toro da corrida del 1993... mentre LP indica la posizione longitudinale posteriore del motore V12. Ancora... 700 sono i cavalli erogati da codesto e 4 indica la trazione integrale sulle quattro ruote. La vettura fu progettata dall'ingegnere e desiner Filippo Perini.
