Hello Alberto, I'll be honest but I find this photo of yours a little ' underlie compared to your standards.
The Trunk In the foreground does not seem sufficiently interesting to "support" this composition, also despite the beautiful sunset I think there is too much sky :-o
Instead I find very interesting the ripples of the water!
I Hope you won't "hate me" after my personal remarks :-D
But You know how it is... You used me too well!!!! :-D :-D
Hello!! ;-)

In Part I share the thought of Frederick, but I find that the sky is functional to the story of the "passage" from one condition of life to another!
I like it very much!
Hello Alberto!

What, you steal my job? Do you have permission to criticize photos? :-D :-D
I'm sorry Alberto on the other hand only four cats on the cross remained that make and receive criticisms 8-)
say that they have not said such nonsense to be banned and a little something have taken the right, but to have photos so around... ;-)

I Share only part of Federico's opinion. I Find the composition extremely interesting with the sky that with its coloration assumes the right importance. I Do not know if it was possible to get closer to the trunk but I find the image as a whole very pleasant.

Ciao, Alberto.

I like... Story, atmosphere, composition, delicacy in shades and contrasts in short, a photo that bears your signature Alberto and you can see it from afar ;-), congratulations.

QUOTAS What, you steal my job? Do you have permission to criticize photos? You're a smart guy Claudio :-D :-D :-D
Alberto I'm not to quote everything you wrote otherwise it becomes a poem; but I thank you for the exhaustive explanation, and I sincerely tell you that I would never have ever come to a comparison so :-D
Anyway You know Me (will be the age) but I'm still for photos "spectacular" and landscape wow!
Thankful for your useful and instructive explanations I wish you a good evening! :-D

x my taste another excellent vertical of yours with excellent scenery filmed and the subject in the first non-trivial (albeit risky) that surely you can lend to different interpretations ;-)
Congratulations

Ciao, Alberto.

A NE the photo from the trunk up like it very much, it will be a simple sunset but the composition and delicacy with which it is made give him an extra gear, for the trunk I read what said by Alberto and I understand, find a story to tell is always a great thing , but I find it a very strong presence, perhaps too much.
Congratulations, hello

I admit that sight the first time I was not particularly impressed.. Then I read the description and the choice of the title and I have to say that they did change me completely point of view. So a subtle message, a photo instructive and sought. Really congratulations..

Thanks for the surgery, Catherine! I Understand that I am a little tied to my conception of the scene, because from that trunk is all the "construction" of this image and its meaning... In fact I wanted this "strong presence": otherwise it was a "simple sunrise", albeit very beautiful in tones and atmosphere. However It is clear that I have only partially succeeded in my communicative intent! ;-)
Marco, thank you for not stopping at the first vision but you took some time to read and re-evaluate the photo! In fact the only words to "decipher" the message should be those of the title, not the explanation of the author: for this I repeat what I just wrote to Catherine, namely that the intent has succeeded in half! ;-)

A beautifully shot sunrise and beautiful title that, thanks to your explanation, helps to better understand the message of the photo. Congratulations Alberto!
