But here and there (in this photo on the bottom right, and I think of the photo of the Pietà which also has areas of anomalous highlights for natural light) you can see reflections that seem typical of the flash. These works of art are protected against the use of flashes with considerations that have never been fully proven, but that's it: the flash cannot be used bella foto , come tutte di questa serie .

Dear Sandro the flash has not been used in this case and in neither of the 421 photos of my gallery in Juzaphoto. Iso 3200 is sufficient to make this photo without a flash, since the Colonna Gallery is full of natural light Using flash is especially drastic while making photos of owls in the forests during nights. Unfortunately some colleagues do it and show such pictures in Juzaphoto. |

Dear Audience the digital photography makes it possible to make such photos without tripods and flash; these photos are not artistic but they simply show, very correctly, the pictorial art to all who will have no chance to visit these special places, simply because some persons are old or ill or do not like long trips. I show these artworks for them. Photos of many artworks are very difficult to find in the internet, even if shown, the photos are horrible. In case of film photography making such photos in the available light was simply impossible. I am showing such photos to inform you: you do have the tools to take photos of the artworks if some available light is present. The limit is iso 6400, f 1.4, time 1/60. This limit is very low, even in dark churches some photos can be done. The recommended bodies; contemporary FF with 24 mp, eg. nikon D780, nikonZ6, etc; 45 mp FF cameras and 24 aps cameras are not recommended for this aim. One can use also nikon Df with 16mp. Some postprocessing in LR improves the images. Here D700 with 12 mp was used; its raws and JPG are very flexible, LR makes miracles. |
