L'incanto del posto e la sorprendente analogia con la baia da lui ammirata a Ceylon, fanno cadere la scelta sulla baia di San Montano, dove la natura trova una delle sue più significative espressioni nelle sorgenti termali, testimonianza della storia vulcanica dell'isola d'Ischia e nella possibilità di un loro utilizzo secondo una tradizione che affonda le radici nell'età classica.
