S'Urthu e sos Buttudos sono le maschere tradizionali di Fonni, il paese più alto della Sardegna, nella provincia di Nuoro. S'Urthu, l'animale, ha il consueto campanaccio ed è vestito di pelli nere o bianche, di montone o di caprone, e viene tenuto alla catena da sos Buttudos, uomini incappucciati vestiti di nero, con dei campanacci sulle spalle. Le due maschere, che compaiono per i fuochi di Sant'Antonio, mettono in scena la classica lotta tra bene e male, tra l'uomo e l'animale: s'Urthu, l'animale, cerca di scappare e di liberarsi arrampicandosi ovunque, su alberi e balconi, mentre sos Buttudos cercano di domarlo.
