Il complesso sito a ridosso del fiume Sile sfruttava l'energia idraulica di uno degli affluenti del Sile, il Melma. In questa sede fu lanciato l'olio di semi Topazio (Olio Cuore - anni '70), sul finire della 2° guerra mondiale divenne il primo polo di produzione di olio di semi in Italia. Il 19 settembre 1922 viene fondata a Venezia la Società Anonima Mulini Angelo Toso, il presidente è l'ingegnere Giancarlo Stucky. Nel 1937 gli Stucky vendettero l'area alla ditta parmense Chiari & Forti. Nel 1957 arriva in commercio la confezione di olio di semi da mezzo litro e da un litro in contenitori di latta decretando il successo dei piccoli formati. Nel 1979 la Quacker Oats, azienda americana, arriva a detenere circa l'80% della società e dal 1982 il controllo. Nel 1995 la “Chiari & Forti” torna ad essere una società interamente italiana, nel 2006 il polo produttivo viene svuotato/sospeso. La struttura viene inserita in un progetto di riqualificazione dell'area proposto nel 2008, dal nuovo proprietario, l'immobiliarista romano Francesco Bellavista Caltagirone. Causa difficoltà finanziarie il complesso industriale viene poi messo in liquidazione. Aprile 2015: scoppia un enorme rogo dell'edificio abbandonato, bonificato e privo di corrente elettrica, pochi giorni prima della 3° asta.
