Ciao, come prima niente male!
Un consiglio potrebbe essere quello di scegliere un cielo meno inquinato dalle luci, conta moltissimo per il risultato.
Hai usato un cavalletto, credo...bhè dai un occhio qui www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?f=26&l=it&t=112670
Con inseguimento potresti esporre maggiormente e facendo una 30ina di scatti, mediandoli con appositi software, tireresti fuori molto di più dal cielo

With tracking you could be exposing more and making a 30ina of shots, averaging them with special software, tireresti out more from heaven ;-)

in merito alla lente non credo che avresti tirato fuori molto di più, come scrivevo conta tantissimo il cielo buio, quindi anche l'assenza della luna...
E poi trovare una lente ben corretta fino ai bordi a f2.8 non è facile
