Un consiglio potrebbe essere quello di scegliere un cielo meno inquinato dalle luci, conta moltissimo per il risultato.

Con inseguimento potresti esporre maggiormente e facendo una 30ina di scatti, mediandoli con appositi software, tireresti fuori molto di più dal cielo ;-)

in merito alla lente non credo che avresti tirato fuori molto di più, come scrivevo conta tantissimo il cielo buio, quindi anche l'assenza della luna...
E poi trovare una lente ben corretta fino ai bordi a f2.8 non è facile :-P
