Hello! Sorry but it is a HDR or a double exposure? I am in my monitor I see a strong color light blue halo around the umbrella perhaps the result of lack of precision in combining the two levels!

Hello, it is not HDR or double exposure, is a single shot. The halo is caused by a use a little stronger than a tone mapping to increase the sharpness.

The halo is known but is not so much what's wrong, I like the minimalist concept and atmosphere of this photo, excellent sharpness and perfect sull'ombrellone the detachment of colors including sand and sea, then lights and colors are well managed and the sky with the clouds helps and is a strong impact. What, however, does not convince me is the point of recovery and perhaps the lens used, so out of hand I would say a wide-angle view of the converging lines of the base of the umbrella and clouds. In my humble opinion, and are not here to judge anyone but to share an opinion:-P, a focal length a little longer and a few steps back would give a better picture in composition, I mean, the umbrella is perhaps too early floor and occupy much space in the image and consequently the thrust proximity to the subject does not appear thenAs remote as it should (again if that's what you went trying to express).

Greetings
Roberto

Hello Roberto,

I thank you for the comments ... are always much appreciated, and we're here just to improve and exchange views, then we welcome your comments.

As you rightly pointed out I used a super wide angle (10-20 sigma) at the minimum focal length. Although the effect may be questionable (exaggeration of perspective), is part of a series of shots we say ... "Exploratory" in which I enjoyed very small focal use to go out a little from the usual clichés.

Surely, one click more classic, maybe horizontally with a longer focal length would have made the shot closer to certain canons (I've tried several in addition to this), but given the banality of the subject itself (flat sea, flat beach. ..) this compoposition more relaxed and less dramatic than it actually suggests the image itself makes the shot more interesting ... perhaps less beautiful in the literal sense, but I think it hits more.

Thanks again for the comment .... and congratulations for your photos, I am made a tour of your gallery ;-)

I like it, gives me a sense of desolation and a hint of melancholy.
Good compo.
Congratulations,
Roberto.
