Melanargia Arge sent on January 30, 2019 (9:24) by Cosimo Montanaro. 46 comments, 1749 views. [retina]

1/100 f/5.6, ISO 100, hand held. Taranto, Italy.

FONTE: http://www.lifericopri.it/

The photo is very beautiful, but the site www.lifericopri.it/, from news not exactly precise: in Sicily, Melanargia Arge is absent, there flies Melanargia Pherusa , endemic to Sicily. Of course, the arge does not fly "only" in 135 sites, but is distributed, with more or less important populations from Calabria to Umbria. To date, has never been reported for brands, while a report for the forests Casentino, the Romagna side, testifies that the species, expanding, is colonizing the northern territories (perhaps because of climate change). Where it is present, it is common, with colonies that can exceed the hundreds of specimens in flight, in favorable seasons

Saluti, Scorpions

Difficult to get more as a general yield from a very good compact but with a sensor so small, you did a great job mediating the best shooting, color, excellent definition (freehand then) of a subject covered by fascinating panelling ;-): Congratulations Cosimo, very nice macro.
A greeting, Claudio :-P

Much more beautiful than the melanargia we have known in addition also helped by the colored ocelli.
