La Marcos fu una casa automobilistica inglese fondata nel 1959 e chiusa la prima volta nel 1972. Poi a fasi alterne è stata attiva fino al 2007. Questa GT 1800 della fotografia fu costruita con la carrozzeria in vetroresina dal 1964 al 1972 principalmente in versione coupé ed era dotata inizialmente di un motore Volvo a 4 cilindri in linea di 1778 cm3 erogante 116 cavalli. Tale scelta fu adottata in quanto la Volvo P 1800 in quel periodo veniva assemblata in Gran Bretagna. In seguito, dal 1969, vennero adottati due nuovi motori prodotti dalla Ford: un 4 cilindri in linea di 2000 cm3 erogante 104 cavalli ed un V6 di 3000 cm3 che sviluppava 140 cavalli. Solo per il mercato statunitense venne invece montato il propulsore a 6 cilindri in linea di 2968 cm3 della Volvo 164.
