Questa che vi mostro è la splendida galassia denominata IC342 nella costellazione della Giraffa. Distante da noi circa 10 milioni di al, è una tipica galassia a spirale. La sua particolarità è che pur essendo molto estesa e relativamente vicina, trovandosi sul piano galattico, è offuscata dalle nubi della nostra Via Lattea. Per questo motivo ha una luminosità superficiale molto debole e per essere osservata necessita di strumenti piuttosto grandi ma soprattutto nelle riprese fotografiche le ora di posa non sono mai troppe. E' quindi un soggetto piuttosto difficile. RC 10" f5,7 LPS 3h RGB 42'
