La gradinata sembra che voglia rappresentare il cammino verso il Cielo. La figura femminile ha lasciato alle proprie spalle le due armature che, ormai vuote, si trovano alla base della scalinata a simboleggiare una marzialità ormai superata. La donna, bella e di nobile portamento, rivolge uno sguardo all'osservatore come se volesse lasciare un messaggio prima di procedere verso il Cielo. Qui si ritrova lei stessa, figura femminile quasi immateriale, trasfigurata, vestita di celeste e pronta a librarsi fra i raggi di luce. Forse angelicata. Volendo esercitarci in parallelismi potremmo anche vederla come una rappresentazione fotografica del preludio storico del Dolce Stil Novo. Pure le vesti assomigliano a quelle delle coeve di Giotto.
