La diga del Panperduto in località fraz. Maddalena, Somma Lombardo (VA). Grandiosa opera di ingegneria idraulica di fine '800 ad opera dell' ing. Villoresi e da cui comincia l'omonimo canale (l'ultimo dei navigli) che partendo dal Ticino, finisce poi dopo 86 km nel fiume Adda. I lavori di realizzazione cominciarono nel 1877 e vennero completati nel 1890. Nonostante l'irrigazione fosse lo scopo principale dell'opera, la costruzione di alcune conche di navigazione lo rese parzialmente accessibile ai barconi per il trasporto di
