Erfoud , è una città moderna, alle porte del deserto del Sahaara, fondata agli inizi del XX secolo dai francesi. La città non offre particolari siti archeologici turistici, io ci sono andata perché volevo penetrare nella vita di questo Paese, studiarne usi e costumi, senza lo strees e la confusione delle famose città imperiali. E' una piccola cittadina sonnolenta, immersa nel torpore di una giornata afosa. Essendo situata ai margini del deserto del Sahara, non è in effetti raro che il termometro oltrepassi i 40 o 50 gradi nel corso della stagione estiva. Soli punti d'interesse della città sono il suo sito archeologico, in cui sono stati trovati numerosi fossili, e la sua specialità culinaria, la madfouna, una specie di calzone berbero cotto in forno a legna. Il Marocco, paese ricco di patrimonio religioso e culturale, è in piena mutazione. Negli ultimi anni ha conosciuto una vera emancipazione a livello sociale, economico, politico e culturale, ma al contempo rimane sempre legato ai suoi valori. Nel mezzo di questo risveglio, c'è la donna. La donna marocchina è sempre più presente nella vita politica ed economica del paese occupando dei posti di grande rilevanza come ministro, ambasciatrice o deputato. Grazie all'attuale Re Mohamed VI° e all'incessante lavoro della donna stessa all'interno di associazioni femminili, una grande riforma nella legge sociale (al Moudawana) ha permesso l'emancipazione delle donne marocchine, con il conseguente rinforzo dei diritti in merito all'equità tra coniugi e una maggiore attenzione verso i diritti dei bambini. Nonostante questo, ci sono ancora numerosi dossiers che sono di ostacolo alla donna nelle sue lotte verso una vita dignitosa. Questo di certo non frena la ferma volontà della donna marocchina di opporsi alle violenze coniugali, ai soprusi professionali e alle discriminazioni sessuali in genere. La strada è ancora lunga perché la donna marocchina ottenga i suoi diritti e occupi il posto che merita ovunque ella decida di vivere, in città o in campagna. Tutto questo sembra non interessare le donne che vedete nella foto, sono semplici casalinghe, vivono in maniera quasi agiata, grazie ai soldi che mandano dall'estero, dove lavorano i loro mariti. Il francese mi ha consentito di scambiare quattro chiacchiere con loro. Una mi ha detto: “Non ci manca il pane e anche qualcosa di più. I nostri figli vanno a scuola e speriamo che un giorno non siano costretti ad andare all'estero a cercare lavoro, che riescano a vivere nel nostro Paese. Avremmo seguito i nostri mariti, ma loro non vogliono, preferiscono tornare due, tre volte l'anno, e ritrovare la loro casa, le nostre abitudini e le nostre tradizioni” Critiche e commenti sempre molto graditi.
