Visto dalla superficie questo posto non ispira molta fiducia: rami spezzati e alberi caduti che si ammassano sulla superficie della lanca, spesso ricoperta da mucillagine. Frenquento questo specchio d'acqua fin da quando sono piccolo, da che ho memoria quest'angolo di lanca ricoperto di tronchi è sempre stato così : inaccessibile. Le prime volte che ho provato a nuotarci in mezzo confesso che avevo un po di timore a infilarmi tra i legni, un po' perché fin da ragazzo fantasticavo su cosa potesse viverci sotto, un po' perché quando mi ci trovo sotto non capisco mai bene dove riemergere. Adesso è uno tra i miei posti preferiti: i raggi del sole che filtrano tra i legni galleggianti creano un ambiente spettacolare fatto di luci e ombre, mi piace appoggiarmi sul fondo e star lì tranquillo come davanti a un'acquario finché resisto. Mentre aspetto alle volte compare da lontano un siluro, che ha la tana poco più avanti tra i legni,e viene a curiosare. Quando sono più fortunato mi passa davanti un gruppetto di carpe, sono così pacifiche, e nonostante la loro forma goffa sono molto aggraziate nel nuotare.
