Su questo ponticello... tanti anni fa... vi erano appoggiati dei binari su cui transitava più volte al giorno un piccolo e rumoroso locomotore di fattura artigianale, pure maleodorante di gasolio, che trainava diversi vagoncini pieni di argilla utilizzata in una fornace per laterizi lì adiacente. Gli argini del canale erano adorni di pioppi... che offrivano refrigerio ai numerosi pescatori che nella stagione estiva popolavano le sue sponde. Pure io, da bambino, mi ci recavo di tanto in tanto a pescare con il nonno. Il canale era sempre pieno di acqua pulita e abitato da tantissimi pesci gatto, carpe ed occasionalmente pure da qualche luccio. Ora, invece, è quasi sempre in secca ed è disdegnato persino dalle nutrie. Alcuni decenni or sono... la fornace fu chiusa ed i pioppi abbattuti. A ricordo è rimasto il ponticello vuoto ed un unico albero cespuglioso che gli è cresciuto sopra... quasi a voler proteggere... l'unica testimonianza rimasta di quei tempi passati...
