Purtroppo debbo deluderti... in quanto non è uno strumento per criptare le parole ma trattasi di un contenitore che per essere aperto richiede l'allineamento delle lettere che precedentemente sono state impostate come sicurezza... un po' come quei lucchetti che hanno 3 o 4 cifre preimpostate e che debbono essere allineate per aprirli.
Trovai questo particolare e strano contenitore in un mercatino del riuso diversi anni fa e quello che lo vendeva non sapeva di cosa si trattasse... mentre avendo io visto il film "Il Codice da Vinci" ne avevo memoria.
Quando lo acquistai, per pochi euro, era chiuso e non conoscendo la parola da impostare mi è servito parecchio tempo per aprirlo poi la parola Sofia... che deriva da sapienza/conoscenza... la ho impostata io come attuale sicurezza d'apertura.
Nel film la parola per la sua apertura era Apple e la sua invenzione era attribuita a Leonardo da Vinci mentre è solamente un oggetto di fantasia inventato da Dan Brown... il romanziere autore del libro... che poi Ron Howard ha tradotto in film.
Da ricerche effettuate questo mio cryptex era originariamente incluso in una confezione speciale del DVD "Il Codice da Vinci".
Dopo l'uscita del film per un po' di tempo ne comparvero in vendita alcuni modelli... costruiti più o meno artigianalmente.
