Vietnam. Hanoi, quartiere vecchio. In orari diversi del giorno, che variano tra giorni feriali e festivi, le persone sono costrette a togliersi dalla strada, chi si trova in casa leva i vestiti stesi al balcone; i bambini corrono a rifugiarsi nei portoni e i negozianti chiudono le porte. No, non sta avvenendo nulla di losco... ma d'incredibile, questo sì: un treno sta passando tra le case, in una via stretta e popolosa dove persino i vagoni c'entrano a malapena. Questo è quello che accade tutti i giorni nel quartiere vecchio di Hanoi, tra le vie Le Duam e Kham Tien, un treno passa in questa strada sfiorando i palazzi, che sembrano costruiti apposta in modo da far circolare questo serpente di ferro. Uno spettacolo che per i turisti (quelli come me) sembra incredibilmente assurdo ma che per i vietnamiti, per gli autoctoni, rappresenta la normalità tanto che alle volte rimangono allibiti dinanzi alle informazione chiestegli dai turisti circa l'orario del passaggio.
