Beautiful image with a rendition of the three-dimensionality of the planes through the B/n really remarkable! The detail is astonishing in relation to the aperture used.

Hello Nangi,

Thank you for your nice comment about this image; it is greatly appreciated! I am consistently impressed with the level of detail the Fujinon lenses are able to capture, and their resolution, especially at wide apertures. Thanks again for stopping by and viewing my work.

Best regards,
Robert

Yes, this is an awesome place. I've been there like 5 years ago, I had just bought my first camera and did not bring home good pictures. I wish I could go back!

Hello Giammarcoa,

I have been fortunate to travel here several times, and never tire of its strange beauty and diversity. I hope that someday you may return and capture a photo that will transport you back whenever you view it.

Best regards,
Robert

I wonder why 1/3200sec to iso 800 when you could keep at 100 ISO with lower times on tripods... The photo is very beautiful

Dylan,

Thank you for your kind words about this image! I set the ISO manually, because this was just after sunrise, so the light was relatively low. On the tripod I turn the lens image stabilization off. The GFX has quite a lot of dynamic range so I was more concerned about controlling the highlights than the shadows. So I knew with a slightly higher ISO, I would get a higher shutter speed to ensure stabilization (I was also shooting on another sand dune) and highlight control. I set the camera to Aperture Priority, stopped down slightly from wide open and let it do the rest. I wasn't worried about noise since the files are absolutely clean to ISO 6400. Wind was another factor to content with as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Best regards,
Robert
