, Posa B f/2.8, ISO 800, tripod.

"THE JOURNEY": in the journey in this window on the Universe where the eyes almost fall, we can fly over nebulae, flank clusters, touch stars, cross dark clouds ... But the first stage of this trip would be the big yellow light source, in the upper left, much closer than the rest of the image. Who can recognize what it is? Image obtained by Gorropu (Sardinia, Italy) on September 3, 2018, with a Canon 6D Baader applied to a 400mm F2.8 canon telephoto lens at full aperture on Vixen GP auto-guiding, with only 8 images from 6 minutes to 800 ISO.

I don't like it. Stars too punctiform, colors too balanced, exaggerated detail.
:-D :-D :-D

I agree with Stefano_C: it has depth.
A truly magnificent wide field species if seen in the 2.5 MP version.
Incredible what can capture the modified 6d along with the 400mm in a dark sky.
Congratulations also for the rest of the gallery.

Thanks to all, I tried not to exaggerate with the elaboration, to keep it more natural and "nebula" precisely, aiming at the softness more than looking for the finer details. I am pleased that my intent has been grasped and appreciated!

This old 400 f/2.8 is proving to be a really good alternative to far more challenging astrographers

In This case Giancarlo was one of his last shots... now I sold it and soon I will have a 400 2.8 is II.... Let's hope it's the same level!

Great! It would be interesting to try it with a cooled room.

:-)
Anyway a ASI294 with adapter I would try it. With ASI AIR you do everything from your smartphone, without PC.
very restrained spending.

Exactly, I'm sincerely fond of the use of reflex in astrophotography, I have no experience or attraction to cooled CCD. 8-
