#parapendio Febbraio 2010, foto session in Wadi Rum (Giordania) con il campione di parapendio acrobatico Mike Kung, il gioco -a volte estremo- era quello di salire aiutandosi col parapendio su pareti rocciose o sulle molte strutture disseminate per la zona, in un'attività riservata a pochissimi, che proprio in quell'occasione prese il nome di 'paraclimbing'. Era tardo pomeriggio quando arrivammo vicino a questo fungo (mushroom), le condizioni del vento erano ottimali e Mike cominciò a salire ripetutamente sulla sua sommità 'volando', cioè facendosi sollevare dal parapendio. Mike è in grado di fare e ripetere più volte manovre acrobatiche eccezionalmente difficili anche per i migliori del mondo, va da sé che ottenere immagini spettacolari è facile più per merito suo che del fotografo di turno. Ma quella volta, nel mirino vidi quella formazione nuvolosa che convergeva verso il punto nodale dell'immagine e mi spostai per ottenere l'immagine giusta. Avevo un paio di minuti prima che le nubi si spostassero modificando la composizione. Diedi il 'via' a Mike e feci partire la raffica della D300 a 8fps. Massimo della fortuna: alle mie spalle c'era una grande parete rocciosa che in pratica faceva da pannello riflettente per schiarire l'ombra. Il risultato fu questo, ed una volta tanto il merito andò al fotografo. Questa foto divenne una cover e fu pubblicata su numerose riviste.
