I burci sono classiche imbarcazioni da trasporto presenti in Laguna fin dai tempi della Serenissima. "Il cimitero dei burci" si trova nel fiume Sile dove nel '74, i barcari portarono le loro imbarcazioni di fronte allo stabilimento della Chiari&Forti (olio Cuore) e lì le fecero affondare in segno di protesta contro la decisione aziendale di utilizzare il trasporto su gomma. Lì, queste grosse imbarcazioni in legno fanno parte ormai del fiume, gli uccelli nidificano e la vegetazione cresce...... I burci, muti e vivi testimoni della fine di un'epoca. Per la cronaca la regione Veneto è stata l'ultima ad abbandonare il trasporto fluviale.
