A Catanzaro, più precisamente nella zona di Aranceto Lido, ubicata in una zona alta della città, raggiungibile solo a piedi, vi è un rudere di una torre risalente al XVI secolo, un tipo di costruzione molto comune in quell'epoca. Queste strutture sono anche conosciute come “Torri Saracene” e altro non sono che fortificazioni erette, presenti un po' in buona parte della Calabria, in particolare a ridosso delle zone costiere. Si nota che questa struttura non è composta solo da una torre, ma anche da un altro elemento architetturale, ossia una sorta di scala sopra ad un arco collegata ad un ponte levatoio che conduce al piano superiore dell'edificio. La parte inferiore è composta solo da una stanza. La parte alta, invece, è stata modificata nel corso dei secoli successivi per poter permette altri utilizzi della stessa, rispetto allo scopo per la quale era stata edificata. Io non sono entrato all'interno, ma quando ero li all'esterno, a fotografare, incontrai due persone, un uomo e una donna, la donna era intenta come me a fotografare, e l'uomo le faceva da assistente e mi disse che all'interno c'erano disegnate figure diaboliche e che negli ultimi tempi avevano luogo messe sataniche e per questa ragione, oggi, Torre Cavallara è conosciuta anche come “Dimora Di Lucifero”.
