Iran/Hamadan, Samanid - Buyid Dynasty. Reconstructed in the Pahlavi Dynasty. Avicenna's (Ibn-e Sina) tomb is monument of the famous Iranian philosopher, scientist, and doctor “Sheykh Raees Ibn Sina” (Avicenna). The plan of the tomb is according to the architectural style of the century that the wise man and philosopher lived in, and was adopted from the oldest monument of Islamic era in Iran, Gonbad-e Qabus beautiful building that is one of the architectural masterpieces. This monument was designed by Mr.Houshang Seihoun, the architect, in commemoration of the thousandth anniversary of Avicenna, and has been constructed by the National heritage Association in 1330 (1951). The location of the tomb is the house of his longtime friend, Abu Saeed dakhdouk, with whom Avicenna spent some time as a guest. Their tombs both lie at this place.This monument has been registered as the monument number 1869 in the list of the national monuments of Iran on 21rd Ordibehesht 1376 (11 May 1997).
