Grazie Maverick! Non è sicuramente meglio del 100-400 ma fa degnamente (da 4 anni ormai) il suo dovere, anche se ormai sono consapevole dei limiti e vorrei passare a qualcosa di più performante

Ti ringrazio anche per i consigli ma purtroppo mi ha afflitto una brutta scimmia per i tele bianchi del valore superiore a 5000€ Stavo pensando al nuovo 200-400 (dipende dal prezzo), oppure all'accoppiata 100-400 + 500 F4 L IS (vecchia versione, quindi da prendere usato). Il tutto perchè vorrei arrivare ad avere, come ho gia detto in un altro topic, 800-1000 mm in casi di emergenza :)

o.t. Per questo tipo di riprese la vedo dura perchè si cerca il più possibile di non croppare, che il sogegtto sia nitido con un particolare dettaglio e a volte si è costretti a farlo a mano libera ... meglio quindi un superzoom... e che il tutto non pesi eccessivamente.
Hai mai provato a puntare con un 500mm a mano libera per più di 3 minuti?
Dal lato qualitativo vedo meglio una canon 5d mark III o 1d mark IV , come escursione zoom a parte l'ampio 200-400mm nella classifica, vedrei meglio un 120-300mm che diventa al lato pratico un 240-600mm. Tieni presente che il 100-400mm a 400mm è più nitido del 150-500mm e che a 500mm anche se croppi fino a simulare i 500mm, il canon è leggermente più nitido del 500mm sigma....montato su una delle 2 reflex sopraindicate e con extender 1.4x il canon non perde l'af centrale.

To obtain this type of shooting I see hard because you try as much as possible not to crop, that is clear sogegtto with a particular detail, and sometimes you are forced to do it by hand ... better then a superzoom ... and that the whole thing does not weigh too much.
Have you ever tried to focus with a 500mm free hand for more than 3 minutes?
From the best quality I see a canon 5d mark 1d mark III or IV, as part of the wider zoom range to 200-400mm in the rankings, I would see a better 120-300mm becomes the practical side of a 240-600mm. Keep in mind that the 100-400mm to 400mm is sharper in the 150-500mm and 500mm although Croppi to simulate 500mm, the Canon is slightly sharper than the 500mm sigma .... mounted on one of the 2 above and reflex with the canon 1.4x extender does not lose the central af.

Bisogna anche tenere in conto che tra un aereo e l'altro non devo stare per forza con il 500 in mano, ma lo posso poggiare. Avevo preso in considerazione il 120-300, ma prenderlo per utilizzarlo sempre duplicato (o quasi) secondo me non avrebbe senso.

D'accordo anche su questo, ma 4 anni fa non avevo i soldi per prendere il canon e mi sono orientato sul sigma. Adesso vorrei prendere una(o più) lenti definitive e il 100-400 lo sarebbe solo se accoppiato al 500 F4 L IS.

I agree on this, but 4 years ago I had the money to take the canon and I focused on the sigma. Now I would like to take one (or more) lenses final and the 100-400 it would be only if coupled to 500F4 L IS.
