Cappella Palatina - Palazzo dei Normanni - Palermo. Fu costruita a partire dal 1129 per volere di re Ruggero II di Sicilia, costituita in parrocchia dall'arcivescovo Pietro, elevata a collegiata, consacrata il 28 aprile 1140 come cappella privata della famiglia reale dall'arcivescovo Ruggero Fesca alla presenza di numerosi prelati del Regno. I lavori furono completati nel 1143 con l'inaugurazione celebrata il 29 giugno e una elogiante omelia dell'arcivescovo di Taormina Filagato da Cerami.
