#FuocoSelettivo carota L. - Carota selvatica Descrizione: Pianta bienne, o annua, ± ispida, con radice lunga a fittone di colore giallastro, carnosa, fusiforme, ramosa; fusti generalmente eretti, pelosi, raramente glabri, a volte striati, semplici e leggermente ramosi nella parte superiore. Altezza sino a 80 cm. Tutta la pianta, se stropicciata emana il caratteristico odore di carota. Ha un aspetto molto variabile con portamento compatto oppure slanciato ed espanso. Le foglie sono di aspetto variabilissimo, le inferiori hanno segmenti ovali inciso-dentati, le superiori sono divise in lacinie lineari. L'infiorescenza ad ombrella di 5÷7 cm raramente +, costituita da 20÷40 raggi, l'involucro è formato da 7÷10 brattee laciniate. I piccoli fiori hanno con petali bianchi, a volte rosa, il centrale porpora-nerastro, Le brattee distese durante la fioritura, si piegano a palla al momento della fruttificazione. I frutti sono acheni ellittici, con coste principali setolose e coste secondarie munite di aculei a punta generalmente semplice. Antesi: aprile÷ottobre Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutto il territorio. Habitat: Negli incolti, nei prati, lungo le strade, in genere negli ambienti aridi; 0÷1.400 m s.l.m.
