Patrick Un grazie a Donna e Franco che per primi hanno commentato questa fotografia, per me molto difficile, in quanto la luce presente era pochissima e il punto di ripresa precario, una sottile linea di terra di una parte del vallo allagato, quello lato Nord, in via provvisoria e difficile da raggiungere alle 22 nel buio.
Non vorrei deludere le aspettative di eventuali visitatori che troveranno impossibile ritrovare qualunque riflesso della famosa cinta muraria.
Questa fotografia risale alla metà dell'Agosto scorso e l'allagamento era stato fatto solo in via momentanea per rendere ancora più scenografici i fuochi d'artificio in vista del Palio di Montagnana.
Dalla prima decade di Settembre non c'è una sola goccia d'acqua, ma un vasto prato in quel fossato che si presenta pur sempre pregevole, ancora intatto nel suo ruolo, per circondare interamente le mura di Montagnana.
Nel Medioevo serviva per creare una pronta e ulteriore difesa da eventuali attacchi nemici, oltre alle solide alte mura e agli arcieri sempre presenti che le custodivano.
