Una mattina , passeggiando , lo vedo seduto che mangia un panino . L'aria stanca , un po' stralunata , la faccia segnata di chi non ha avuto una vita facile . Lo guardo e la mia mente si inventa una storia , immagina cosa c'è dietro quella faccia , dietro quelle rughe , dietro quella espressione disincantata e leggermente assente . Vedo anni trascorsi in una fabbrica o nei campi o , magari , sulle impalcature a costruire case che non si potrà mai permettere . Chissà quale strada ha percorso quest'uomo dall'aria mite , che i passanti guardano con superficialità , in maniera frettolosa qualcuno con compassione , altri con aria un po' schifata , infastidita. Quale strada , dicevo, l'ha portato ha mangiare un panino da solo , di domenica , sotto i loggiati della chiesa.
