Come scriveva, e pensava, Kerouac. Andare non importa dove, senza fermarsi mai finché non arriviamo. In ogni foto, in ognuna delle parole che camminano sulle pagine di Strade del Mondo questo concetto viene, però, tradotto in chiave moderna, senza cioè disprezzare i mezzi e i modi che il turismo moderno mette a nostra disposizione, oggi. Le strade percorse dai due viaggiatori-fotografi portano in varie parti del mondo (America, Africa, Europa) e privilegiano la gente e gli spettacoli che la Natura mette in scena - per noi e per tutti - in ogni giorno dell'anno. Non si tratta di un guida turistica, ma si è voluto dare largo spazio alle suggestioni che gli incontri con la gente locale, gli animali e la Natura hanno saputo offrirci, a piene mani. Un libro di emozioni vere, quelle che vengono dal cuore e che fanno volare le farfalle nello stomaco. Soltanto la strada sa regalare queste cose.
È stata dura selezionare, fra migliaia di foto irrinunciabili, quelle che "parlano" e che potessero rappresentare il nostro modo di andare. La scelta non ha seguito una logica geografica o turistica, ma - ancora una volta - è stata fatta in chiave emozionale. Vivessimo anche mille anni, l'emozione e l'ansia con cui presentiamo le nostre emozioni al lettore sono molto forti, come la prima volta. Crediamo e speriamo che le parole e le fotografie che viaggiano, con i loro colori e con le loro suggestioni, nel Libro parlino anche al cuore di chi le legge e le vede.
Ci auguriamo che il lettore possa viaggiare con noi, vivendo e condividendo le parole e le immagini lungo le strade del mondo con lo stesso entusiasmo che abbiamo provato noi nel momento in cui le abbiamo vissute.
