Questa fotografia è il risultato di 6 doppie esposizioni, ciascuna coppia è formata da una lunga esposizione per il cielo, e una breve per i monti. Quello che ho pensato quel giorno, assieme ai miei compagni di viaggio, è che non eravamo in Islanda per aggiungere una linea ad una check-list di posti visitati. Noi viaggiamo insieme per crescere come persone e per essere empatici con la natura che ci circonda. Stavamo guidando verso Nord lungo la F261 e cercavamo un modo per guadare il fiume Bláfjallakvisl, per attraversare la valle e raggiungere Þórsmörk, il che è risultato impossibile. Così abbiamo deciso di continuare a guidare verso Nord finché siamo arrivati su di un altopiano circondato da montagne innevate, con i ghiacciai del vulcano Katla proprio dietro di loro. Che piacevole sorpresa! Vento calmo al suolo, ma forte in altitudine, tutto era silenzioso. Quella è stata la fine del nostro viaggio, non perché stavamo partendo per tornare a casa, ma solo perché da lì potevamo solo tornare indietro: l'obiettivo del nostro viaggio era stato appena raggiunto.
