Le foto sono state fatte un paio di anni fa al lago di Kerkini in Macedonia, a circa venti Km dal confine con la Bulgaria.
Il periodo migliore è il mese di febbraio, quando la sacca sotto il becco diventa di quel rosso acceso, negli esemplari adulti, che segnala il periodo della riproduzione.
Naturalmente per fotografarli così vicini, devi prendere accodi con un pescatore del posto, che ti accompagna con la barca e nello stesso tempo li nutre con lo scarto del pescato della notte.
Dalla riva del lago, non si fa nulla, oppure li fotografi con un telescopio.
Da quello che ho potuto vedere, anche il pescatore che ti accompagna, fà la differenza.
Noi avevamo quasi i pellicani in barca, con la frenesia di prendere il pesce che gli si lanciava, mentre altre persone fuori con altri pescatori rimanevano più lontani dalla barca e con un comportamento completamente diverso.
Anche i pellicani hanno le loro preferenze !!!!!!!
