A fianco del canale dove dimora questa nutria vi era un campo di mais che arrivato a maturazione è stato raccolto. Durante tale operazione diverse pannocchie sono cadute a terra. In passato... quando molti avevano il pollaio... nei giorni successivi alla raccolta si vedevano diverse persone che munite di secchie giravano per il campo a cercare pezzi di pannocchie cadute dalla mietitrice: tale operazione nel nostro dialetto era detta "spigler"... cioè spigolare... raccogliere le spighe alla spicciolata. Adesso... che i piccoli pollai sono praticamente spariti... le pannocchie cadute rimangono lì, a terra... per la gioia di queste nutrie che trovano così senza troppa fatica dei deliziosi spuntini...
