1/1000 f/4.0, ISO 100,

The subject is central and set. Did you use a 300mm f/2.8 VR nude (without extender?).
Tips:
-in naturalistic photography I mm are never enough, evaluates a 1.7 x extender that would bring the 300mm to the focal 510 mm (a good compromise between AF and focal speed)
-use only one point AF and foul cadee on the nose of the subject
-use ISO Security, it is not a drama to use 400 ISO on APSC
-always sets aperture priority, you have to choose the sharpness and depth of field (not the reflex)
-exploits more the deviation of the exposure, here you could underexpose of 2/3 stop in order to make Reaping the colors, the detail
-with three-dimensional subjects better close the diaphragm, on this occasion F. 6.3
(IMHO)

With the d500 you can easily shoot at higher isos without any inconvenience. This allows you to close the aperture to get a better MAF on the whole subject. I salute you.
