Non sono un esperto di macro benché ogni tanto la pratichi, quindi eviterò di addentrarmi in tecnicismi non adatti quando si commentano foto di chi muove i primi passi in Fotografia. Il consiglio più banale che posso darti è di stare attenta allo sfondo che in macro fotografia è davvero importante. Isolare il soggetto, in genere si fa così...ma anche uno sfondo ricercato può contribuire al risultato finale, quindi non è detto che si debba sempre e comunque sfocare oltremodo ciò che sta dietro al soggetto. Nel caso di questa foto lo sfondo distrae un po' per via di quegli steli, quindi se puoi fai sempre attenzione a questi dettagli e varia di continuo la tua posizione fino a quando non vedi che dietro il soggetto vi sia 'campo pulito'.
Hai esposto correttamente, ma la luce era un po' duretta. In questi casi (laddove sia possibile farlo) un semplice consiglio può aiutare a neutralizzare le ombre nette e la luce violenta del Sole alto: portati un ombrellino bianco, di quelli che si usano in studio con i flash. Se hai chi te lo tiene è meglio ;-D ma al limite un piccolo stativo o il treppiedi (se te lo porti) andranno benissimo. Lo apri e lo posizioni ad una certa distanza dal soggetto in modo da 'schermare' la luce e ammorbidire le ombre.
Giusto per farti vedere in pratica ciò che ti ho appena detto mi permetto di inserire una foto scattata con questo sistema: [IMG2] 1300355[/IMG2] Le condizioni di luce erano simili alle tue, ma l'uso dell'ombrellino mi ha aiutato.
Per il resto hai fatto bene a posizionarti ad altezza insetto e anche questa è un modo di procedere corretto.
