Dopo non so bene quante sere passate a guardare cieli nuvolosi, mi decido finalmente a vendere un rene, la dignità e qualche membro della famiglia per prenotarmi una notte in albergo al caldo per darmi una pulita e non dormire in macchina.. Avevo aspettato fino alla sera prima per prenotare, proprio per non rischiare di buttare dei soldi quando il cielo fuori era libero dalle nuvole. La sera prima infatti, il meteo prometteva una tempesta di neve degna di questo nome, ed io ero più felice che mai di farmi finalmente una dormita decente! Il giorno stesso, nel primo pomeriggio faccio l'errore di guardare il meteo.. Era cambiato radicalmente, e ora prometteva cieli puliti da l'una di notte fino alle 4! In un misto di rabbia e felicità subito dopo il tramonto (che il quel periodo era alle 16:30 circa) torno in albergo e per sfruttarlo il più possibile mi faccio una bella doccia e mi infilo subito a letto, con la sveglia alle 23; arrivata quell'ora, mi sveglio e guardo fuori dalla finestra (non vi nascondo che speravo un po' fosse nuvoloso, quel letto caldo mi attirava tantissimo!).. Il cielo era quasi completamente sereno! In quel momento tutti i dubbi se ne vanno e mi fiondo fuori, pensando a luoghi in cui poter fotografare l'aurora; dopo essermi fermato nei più classici, mi viene in mente questa location in cui non avevo ancora visto foto notturne.. Così, verso le 2 e qualcosa di mattina mi ritrovo qui, nella solitudine più totale con le lucine del paese lontano e l'aurora boreale che danzava sopra la mia testa! Buffo perché nelle sere precedenti fino a mezzanotte circa si trovavano diverse persone nei vari spot ad aspettare l'aurora.. Ma quella sera lì in tutti i posti in cui sono stato, girovagando fino alla 4:30, ero completamente solo, non ho trovato una singola macchina in 50km di strada.. La passione ti spinge a far cose che molti riterrebbero pazzie! Aggiungo come piccolo postulato che ho aperto il calendario con le date dei miei tour nel nord per la stagione 2018/2019 sul mio sito, quindi per coloro interessati a seguirmi in questi posti (ci sono partenze per Lofoten, Islanda e Lapponia) si faccia un giro sul mio sito www.leonardopapera.com .
