I ciciu sono "funghi rocciosi" composti da un "gambo" di terra su cui poggia un "cappello" di gneiss occhiadino, franato dalle pareti rocciose. I ciciu iniziano a prendere forma alla fine dell'ultima era glaciale per l'intensa azione erosiva del torrente Franssimagna, un affluente del torrente Maira.
