Non è facile fare un corso di photoshop o simili in una risposta:-P
Partendo da un file raw puoi lavorare su luci, bianchi, ombre e neri per bilanciare meglio i vari passaggi, poi utilizzando la struttura (o la maschera di contrasto), e variando leggermente l'esposizione ed il contrasto il risultato dovrebbe già vedersi; il tutto condito da selezioni mirate e livelli da gestire/fondere;-). in rete esistono migliaia di tutorial che possono fare al caso tuo.
In generale ti conviene partire dalle basi e proseguire seguendo tutorial mirati al tuo tipo di fotografia (paesaggio ad esempio) senza cercare di imparare tutto, ma provando, sbagliando, riprovando fino a quando non comincerai a conoscere gli strumenti con cui lavori.
Vedrai che è tutto più facile a farsi che a dirsi.

Molto fanno gli strumenti che utilizzi, io uso Photoshop elements, Lightroom, gimp e la nick collection (vecchia), un set di strumenti non particolarmente evoluto ma che mi permette di fare quello che mi serve.
