La Rocca Sanvitale è un'imponente fortezza eretta nel XIV secolo su un preesistente edificio del XII secolo. Sottoposta a numerosi restauri, nel corso dei secoli è stata trasformata da fortezza difensiva a residenza dei nobili Conti Sanvitale che l'hanno poi abitata per circa sei secoli. Ha pianta quadrata con muri merlati e quattro torri angolari ed è tutt'oggi circondata da un ampio fossato alimentato un tempo dall'acqua prodotta da una risorgiva e risistemato all'inizio del XVII secolo; l'entrata sul cortile interno avviene attraverso un ponte levatoio.
