Il Centranthus ruber L. , comunemente chiamato Valeriana rossa o Camarezza comune, appartiene alla famiglia delle Caprifoliaceae (secondo altri alla specifica famiglia delle Valerianaceae) ed è diffuso in tutta Italia dal livello del mare sin verso i 1.200 m. Fiorisce da maggio a settembre. Il nome del genere deriva dal greco kéntron = sperone e anthos = fiore per la sua corolla speronata, il nome della specie ruber = rosso è ispirato al suo colore. In erboristeria è usato per le sue azioni sedative ed antidolorifiche . Curiosità: Le credenze popolari attribuivano a questa pianta poteri magici, le sue radici essicate e polverizzate, conservate in sacchetti erano usate per proteggere la casa dai fulmini e le sue foglie erano usate per placare gli animi nei litigi amorosi e riconciliare gli innamorati. Lo scatto è stato effettuato nel mese di Maggio 2018 in Liguria ai bordi della via romana Julia Augusta nel tratto tra Solva e Albenga. Leggero crop dato che non avevo con me la lente macro.
