The use of clarity I find it always unseemly, there are better methods to work on the contrast.
The scene I find it magnificent: the airplane immersed in these thundering mounds shows itself as small as we are not accustomed to imagine it.

Hello Paul, thanks for the comment and the Council.
In This case Act on clarity it seemed to me the best solution to emphasize the structures of the clouds that were seen with the naked eye. You that other roads, the advice to act on the contrasts?

The clarity creates halos and noise that also affect the naturalness of the nuances. At high resolution the effects are seen, both on the airplane and on the contours of the clouds.
First I would go to act locally, selecting with masks (mainly luminance) specific areas of the image, then the possible interventions could be many, from the use of curves in luminance (without touching shift and saturation of Colors), a Dodge & burn with brushes, or the use of a black and white gradient map by changing the blending modes, and so on. At the limit there could also be a bit ' of sharpness to stand out the jagged edges of the expanding heaps, but in my opinion without exaggeration.
All this of course in my opinion, it is not said that it is shareable.

Imagine, I always accept criticism and advice or new ways to process the photos. I will try as soon as I have time to do as you said and then publish the result. Thanks
