Highgate Cemetery, North London. Taken back in late April 2015 when I spent 2 hours photographing this fascinating and mostly wonderfully overgrown and photogenic and famous cemetery. Karl Marx's, to me, was the least interesting and most boring, but I thought I should try and get a shot of it. There were many large groups to had come to look at and tale selfies and so I had very little time to grab a shot, against the sun, with flare and glare. This was about the worst of the 300+ photos I took but I had not looked at them since but had decided I should try and get this one up when it was an anniversary - as it is, a very significant one! It also highlights that on the few afternoons in the week that it is open (run by a charitable Trust, with volunteers, modest fee), that those visiting London can get some terrific shots of this most iconic of London cemeteries. And, yes, I now realise that I am three days late!!
