#Neuroptera Libelloides Coccajus (Denis & Schiffermüller,1775) ORDINE: NEUROPTERA - FAMIGLIA : ASCALAPHIDAE - È la specie più comune, del genere Libelloides, Nella catena alimentare i Libelloides occupano la posizione di predatori diurni in quanto catturano in aria mosche e piccoli insetti, come fanno le libellule.Libelloides coccajus, la 'Sulphur Owly', è una specie appartenente alla famiglia Ascalaphidae sottofamiglia Ascalaphinae . Questo raro insetto è presente in Francia , Repubblica Ceca , Germania , Italia , Spagna e Svizzera . Gli adulti raggiungono 25 millimetri (0.98 in) di lunghezza, con un'apertura alare di 45-55 millimetri (1.8-2.2 in) e possono essere incontrate da aprile a luglio nelle zone ad alta erba. Il corpo è di colore nero e molto peloso. Hanno grandi occhi sporgenti e le lunghe antenne bastonato.Le ali non hanno squame e sono trasparenti, di colore giallo brillante per i masche biache per le femmine .
